There I was, the space was ready. Paints and bruches set, papers and even some other objects to bring some variety. There was a group of about 20 children coming, ages between 11 and 12.

But I knew, deep inside, that it wasn't enough, that they would start saying: "Painting? I don't like painting! My paintings are awful!". I knew that there would be resistence, that I had to convince them to trust themselves... it wouldn't be easy.

Suddenly I thought - What if they could paint parts of their body? The hands, the arms. It would be a mess, but the most important was to grasp these children, make them pick the brushes, forget about their fears and express themselves and that was what we did!!

Ali estava eu à espera, a sala pronta. Tintas e pincéis a postos, folhas e até alguns outros utensílios, para variarmos um pouco. Vinha aí um grupo de crianças entre os 11| 12 anos, uns 20, mais ou menos. 

Mas eu sentia que isso não era suficiente, que iam começar a sentenciar: "Pintura? Eu não gosto de pintar! As minhas pinturas são sempre feias!". Eu sabia que ia haver resistência, que tinha de os convencer a acreditarem neles próprios... não era fácil.

De repente pensei - E se eles pudessem pintar partes do seu corpo? As mãos, os braços. Ia ser um rebuliço, mas o mais importante era captar estas crianças, fazê-las pegar nos pincéis, esquecerem-se dos seus medos e expressarem-se e foi isso que fizemos!!

Vacations were... amazing!! Time just flowed! Lots of kids, lots of ART and a big, big human watmth! Thanks to all who lived with me this summer!!

As férias foram... demais!! O tempo passou a correr! Muitos meninos, muita ARTE e um grande, grande calor humano! Obrigada a todos os que viveram comigo este Verão!!
